Power Poppy's Abundance Stamp Release~Day 1!

Hello there and happy Wednesday to you!  I hope your week is going well.  Today is Day 1 of Power Poppy's Abundance stamp release.  I can not wait for you to see all that Marcella has in store for you.....the new stamps are nothing short of I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E!  Yep, I busted out the all caps for that!  ;)  Truly, the images....and the cards you will see from my oh-so-amazing Bloomie sisters....are going to blow your socks off!  Today's preview set is Vibrant Thanks....just take a lookie at this beauty!

Did you notice the zinnias in this snippet?  Well, that is not the only bloom in this set!  I'll bet as you make the hop, you will spy the others.  For my card, I chose to use the bee balm image with an adorable sentiment....

Hi!  :)  Isn't that the most darling little sentiment?  Since I wanted to spotlight a single stem of bee balm, I scaled my card size down a bit.  This card measures 3 1/4" x 4 1/2".    I started by die cutting my image panel, masking the edges with sticky notes, and stamping the bee balm image with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink.  I stamped the image off on a piece of scrap paper again and fussy cut it out to make a mask.  After placing the mask over my stamped image, I inked up the stamp with Memento's LuLu Lavender ink and stamped a few more blooms in the background.  Next, I sponged Ranger Distress Ink in Weathered Wood around the entire panel.

After I gave it a couple of minutes to dry a bit, I started coloring my main bloom with Copics. I used a Prismacolor white pencil to add a few highlights here and there and then my Wink of Stella clear brush pen to add some shimmer.  Next, I stamped the sentiment with my trusty MISTI.  :)  The fun part was peeling off the sticky notes to reveal a clean edge around my panel!  Next, I added some gold leafing with a Krylon 18 KT gold leafing pen and then attached my image to a trimmed card stock panel.  Lastly, I adhered everything to a die cut scalloped rectangle card base.

Isn't that the daintiest little flower you've ever seen?  That Marcella really knows how to capture even the tiniest of details with her blooms and as always....this was a complete joy to color!

Well, that is all for my card today but like I mentioned earlier, you must see all of the beautiful creations my Bloomie sisters have for your inspiration as well as see Marcella's post on today's set over on the Power Poppy blog.  Make sure you leave a little blog love while you hop and then I would love it if you could stop back by tomorrow for Day 2 of this wonderful release!  Thank you so much for your visit today and until next time, take care!  :)

  2. Ooh, Katie, this is gorgeous, and I do love that little "hi" sentiment! Hehe...I can imagine using that a lot! I just love a sweet little sentiment on a card that doesn't take up all the attention. Your bee balm is just the sweetest, and it's the prettiest image of a bee balm I've ever seen. However, I would expect nothing less from our dear Marcella! I absolutely love the depth of coloring and how you stamped off with the Lulu Lavender ink...brilliant idea! The white pencil is just right too along with your beautiful "Miss Katie" framing...decorative and gilded! Love it all and can hardly wait to see the entire set (and release). See ya'll tomorrow! xoxo
