Power Poppy's August Blog Hop!

Hello there and Happy Friday to you!  Today marks the end of Power Poppy's August release and to mark the occasion we have one last hop for you!  Today is also the day that all three of Marcella's amazing new sets in the Nature and Nurture collection will be available for purchase in the Power Poppy Store.....YAY!  :)  I am so excited to share with you my card using another image from the Feeling Fall set!  Take a lookie here...

I started by stamping the adorable cat and pumpkin image and coloring it up with Copics.  I die cut it out with a Spellbinders Classic Oval die and sponged some Ranger Distress Ink in Peeled Paint and Papertrey Ink's Chai and Chamomile inks to age it a bit.  Next, I added some shimmer with a Wink of Stella clear brush pen.  With my image tag done, I went to work on my card base.

I used Papertrey Ink's Pumpkin die set from their Shape Up series.  I used several patterned papers from Carta Bella's "Fall Blessings" 6x6 pad and inked the sections with more PTI Chai and Chamomile inks, pieced them together and stitched them up.  I used a bit of Classic Kraft paper for the stem and stitched it on my card front.  Next, I tied a bow, punched a couple of very small holes in my pieced card front and tied the bow on with a button and twine.  I die cut a small tag with more Classic Kraft paper and stamped the sentiment.  Lastly, I attached the image tag and sentiment tag with some foam dimensionals.

Can I tell you how much I love, love, L-O-VE this image!  Well, I do!  That chevron stripe and those polka dots....I get giddy, I tell ya.  :)  And let me not fail to mention that adorable-y spooky cat!

This card ended up measuring approximately 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  And I still love this image....just sayin'....again! ;)  So that is all for my little card today but let me just say that my Bloomie sisters have outdone themselves once again.....you are in for a real treat.  Make sure you leave them a little blog love while you are there and then jet on over to the Power Poppy store to make one, two, or all three of these amazing new sets your own!  AND...lemme tell you a little something else....Marcella has whipped up a super sweet sale so while you are getting these new sets you can stock up on some other sets or digis that you have had your eye on.....

Power Poppy's August Stamp Release~Day 3!

Hi there and welcome back for Day 3 of Power Poppy's August Stamp Release!  Today's stamp set, Feeling Fall, is the final set in Marcella's Nature and Nurture collection. This set has some absolutely adorable images and sentiments!

For my card today, I chose the sweet coffee mug with gourds.  I stamped my image with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink onto a panel of Papertrey Ink's Rustic Cream card stock.  I colored my image with Copics and then spritzed some inks to distress it a bit.  Next, I added some strips of patterned paper from Carta Bella's "Autumn" 6x6 pad with stitching.  The sentiment got a little special treatment- I inked it up using PTI's Dark Chocolate, Terracotta Tile, and Summer Sunrise inks to give it a gradient look.  Next, I decided to round the bottom corners with a We R Memory Keepers 3/8" Corner Chomper.  Lastly, I adhered my panel to a card base and added some ribbon, button, and twine.  This finished card size is  3 1/2" x 5".

I just love those little gourds!  They are really fun and quite quick to color up.  If you can believe it, I did not use a single die for this card....or gold leafing!

For the inside of my card I used the leaf images, added a bit of patterned paper, and rounded the corners with a We R Memory Keepers 1/4" Corner Chomper.

Those little leaves are adorable, don't you think?  :)  I am really getting in the fall frame of mind and am SO ready for some fall weather...how about you?

So that is all for my little card today, but my Bloomie sisters have once again created an amazing selection of card inspiration just for you!  You certainly want to check out Marcella's post over on the Power Poppy blog.  Make sure you leave them all a little blog love and then please come back by tomorrow for the Power Poppy Blog Hop!  Thanks so much for stopping by and I can't wait to see you tomorrow....until then, take care!  :)

Power Poppy's August Stamp Release~Day 2!

Hi there my stamping friends!  Welcome back for Day 2 of Power Poppy's August stamp release! Today we are featuring In Praise of Sunflowers.  I'll bet she looks familiar to you!  :)  Marcella brought back her incredibly popular Sunflower digital images and combined them with some sweet sentiments.

For my card, I chose the sunflower bouquet in a vase.  I stamped the image with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink on to a die cut panel and colored it up with Copics.  I added a little shimmer with a Wink of Stella clear brush pen.  My card base is a couple of simple patterned paper layers with a punched trim, ribbon and button.  Some stitching adds a little extra detail.  To finish it off, I adhered my colored image panel.

Oh my goodness, how I love this image.  It was so much fun to color up!  All of those beautiful details that Marcella is so famous for definitely make this image a show stopper.  The finished size of this card is 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".

The set has some sweet sentiments in mixed fonts which I l-o-v-e!  I am trying to do a little better about showing a photo of the inside of the card.....I have been inspired by my lovely Bloomie sisters, Cindy Lawrence and Tosha Leyendekker.

Don't you just love those sentiments?!  Not sure if I  mentioned it or not, but I do!  ;)  I also love this image stamped in yellow!  No coloring whatsoever and she still looks stunning.

So that is all for my little card today, but once again, my a-mazingly talented Bloomie sisters have quite a hop for you so make sure you check them all out and leave a little blog love while you are there.  Don't forget to check out the post on Power Poppy's blog for some insight into Marcella's lovely images for this stamp set.  Then, please stop back by tomorrow for Day 3 of our August stamp release, the final set in the Nature and Nurture collection.  This set will have you wishing for those crisp autumn days that are hopefully coming soon!  I am certainly ready for some cooler weather.  :) Thank you so much for stopping by today and until tomorrow, take care!

Power Poppy's August Stamp Release~Day One!

Hi there and welcome!  I hope this day finds you well.  Today marks the start of Power Poppy's August Stamp Release- the Nature and Nurture Collection.   So how about a little Prairie Cheer to kick things off today?

I chose to go with the wheat image in the set for my card today...

I started by stamping the wheat image a few times with Memento's Rich Cocoa ink on some Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream card stock.  I colored the image with Copics and then ran it through my Spellbinders Grand Calibur with a PTI wood grain impression plate.  Next, I die cut a circle out using Spellbinders Classic Circle Large set.  I used some PTI Chai and Chamomile inks to give an aged look to the panel, added some shimmer with a Wink of Stella Clear brush pen, then added some gold leafing to the interior of the circle cut out with a Krylon 18KT gold leafing pen.  Next, I stamped a sentiment from the Olive and Oak Expanded stamp set with Stampin' Up!'s Cajun Craze ink onto some more cream card stock and adhered it to my image panel.  After that, I stitched some patterned paper from Authentique's "Thankful" 6x6 paper pad and then adhered everything to a card base of PTI's Dark Chocolate card stock.  To finish it off, I added some gold thread and buttons.

You can't tell in the picture, but that shimmer from the Wink of Stella pen really makes the wheat pop.  Don't you just love all of the detail in this beautiful image?  I don't know how Marcella does it!  The finished card size is 3 3/4" x 4 5/8".   And here is a little view of the inside of the card.  The sentiment is another from the Olive and Oak Expanded set and the wheat was stamped in PTI's Classic Kraft ink...

So that is all for my card today, but my Bloomie sisters have once again created  quite a display of lovely cards for your inspiration.  Make sure you check them all out and leave a little blog love while you are there.  Then, please come back tomorrow for Day 2 of Power Poppy's Release...I think you will be very happy to see this familiar image!  :)  Make sure you also check out all of the festivities on the Power Poppy blog!  Until tomorrow, take care....

How About a Little Power & Spark?

Hi  there everybody and I am so glad you stopped by today!  I have a quick little post for Power Poppy's new Power & Spark Challenge!  This month's lovely hostess is the incredibly talented and super sweet Julie Koerber.  Just take a look at her inspiring challenge and fun description...

Power Poppy is going all “C.S.I.” on you this month. No, it’s not what you think. We’re not on the case – we ARE CASE-ing. We are challenging YOU to Copy, Steal, Inspire! All you need to do is pick a Power Poppy creation somewhere in blog land by any designer and be inspired by it. Then, create your own spin on the original design! Just that simple!

So, with that in mind, I went surfing on the net to find my inspiration project.  I did not have to look long at all before I came across this darling tag design by Donna Phelan.  I loved the look of her beautifully layered tags so I thought I would give that a try....and no better time than now because there is a certain Mr. Sims that is about to have a birthday!  So, to go all out, I decided to color up this gorgeous layer cake from the Party Time stamp set in Matt's favorite colors....those of his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. GO DAWGS!  With college football season just around the corner, I thought this would make a pretty fun tag for his gift bag. I used some bits of patterned paper and some washi tape for my tags, colored my image up with copics, fussy cut it out and adhered it to a die cut tag that I had stamped the banner image from the same set.  Some more patterned paper, stitching, black card stock and a wood grain impression plate finish off the second layer of my tag duo.  I added some shimmer to the little sentiment banner with my Wink of Stella clear brush pen.  Next, I added my ribbons, twine and button and adhered it to my bag.

I had a little trouble trying to get some good photos of both the bag and tag because the bag was a pretty good sized bag...just right for filling up with goodies for my favorite birthday guy!  ;)  Here is a slightly closer view of the tag...

I was able to get a photo of everything together but I am afraid that the tag is a little out of focus...but, you get the idea here....

So there you have my birthday tag inspired by Donna's lovely layered tag project.  I had so much fun putting this together....thanks, Donna!  :)

Well, this is all for my project by I know several of my Bloomie sisters have some pretty amazing things to share with you so make sure you check them out...and leave them a little blog love while you are there.  Then, why don't you join us for this challenge?  Find a little Power Poppy inspiration, and create your own project...make sure you link it up on the Power Poppy blog for a chance to win a free stamp set!  OH....did I mention that today is also the day that the amazing Power Poppy Instant Gardeners are debuting the newest digital image?  Make sure you check that out too....it is sure to be quite a display of gorgeous cards for your inspiration.   Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend.  Until next time, take care....
