Happy Power Poppy Friday!

Hi there and Happy Friday!  I am so excited to be posting a Power Poppy Friday card today.  I have sure missed posting these last few weeks.  Unfortunately, I have had a few medical issues that required me to take some time off but I am slowly getting stronger and back to my ol' self and hope to be 100% soon.  For today's card I used the dreamy Everything's Even Rosier stamp set.  Nobody illustrates roses better than Marcella...after some serious thought I decided to use the large single rose bud for my card.  I stamped the image a few times with Papertrey Ink's Autumn Rose ink onto a die cut using Spellbinder's Labels Twenty Eight die set.  Next, I stamped the rose again using Memento's Tuxedo black ink colored it with Copics, sponged some Ranger Distress ink in Evergreen Bough around the die cut and used my Krylon 18KT gold leafing pen to finish off the edge.  I struggled a little bit with how to finish my card base....honestly, it felt like I had forgotten how to make a card! :)  Do you ever have times like that?  I finally decided to just keep it really simple so I used a couple of patterned papers and stitched them on a card base panel then adhered it to my card base.  I rounded the corners with a 3/8" corner chomper from We R Memory Keepers.  Lastly, I adhered the sentiment panel to my card base and then adhered my fussy cut rose with foam dimensionals.  Did I mention I added some sparkle to the rose with a Wink of Stella clear glitter pen?  Well, I did!  :)  This finished card measures 3 3/8" x 4 7/8".

Don't you just love all of that beautiful detail in the rose and how about the lovely scripted sentiment?  Marcella, aka the Bloom Whisperer, strikes again!  I was so excited to see all of her beautiful new sets!

Just look at that pretty little rose bud...such a dream to color up and the sentiment with its mixed font is so very dreamy, don't you think?  :)  Well that is all for my card today but there are some beautiful creations compliments of my Bloomie sisters for your creative inspiration.  Make sure you leave a little blog love while you are there.  And, if you haven't popped over to the Power Poppy blog lately, you really should!  Lots of beautiful things going on over there including new digi releases and a day or two remaining for the July Power & Spark Challenge  with the lovely Copic diva Kathy Jones hosting this one!   :) Thank you so much for your visit today and I hope to see you again soon.  Until then, take care.

There's a Princess in the house...and it's her birthday!

Today is a special day for the Flourishes Family to celebrate our Birthday Girl - Julie Koerber!  And Julie is definitely worth celebrating!  She's the right hand on so many levels of what's beautiful about Flourishes, and we're so grateful for her and blessed to also call this lovely lady friend.

This summer a number of the Flourishes Senior Design Team girls gathered for a weekend in Yellowstone National Park.  It was a fantastic time of fun!  One of the great things some of the girls did was go Whitewater Rafting.  Because there were family members along, Julie graciously said she'd sit in the middle of the raft so the kids could get the most out of the experience.  The raft guide however thought that would be a fun opportunity to tease Julie about her "Princess" status.  She gracefully took it and we love to tease her about it - and so the idea for this Princess Birthday Hop was born!  Julie we love you and your fun, spunky spirit, and also the warmth and grace you live your life with!  Happy Birthday from all of us at Flourishes!

In honor of our Princess, I created a royal-themed card.  I found this adorable card template on Silhouette America's site and knew this would be perfect for my card!  I added some flowers colored with Copics from the fabulous Summer Blossoms set and the sentiment is from the Winter Blossoms set.

My banner is a Spellbinder's die.  I added a little bejeweled brad and outlined my crown with my Atyou Spica clear glitter pen and voila.....a card fit for a Princess!

I had so much fun playing along today!  Julie, I hope you have a wonderful birthday and thank you so much for all that you do for all of us!  And I also want to give a little shout out to Tosha Leyendekker....Happy Birthday to you too!!  Hope you enjoy your special day too!  :)

We invite you to hop along today with many of our Flourishes Family to see our pretty Princess and Birthday inspiration, and join in on our wishes for Julie!

Comment along the way and you could be entered to win any Birthday set of your choice from the Flourishes Store!  Winners will be chosen and announced on Saturday November 23rd on the Flourishes Blog.

And don't forgot to drop by Julie's place to send her your Happy Birthday wishes too!
