Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday #252

Hi there, everybody!  It's been a little while since my last post!  Did you all have a nice Christmas holiday?  Spend lots of time with family and friends and eat lots of good food?  Oh, I hope you did!  :)  Well, as you can tell it is time for another Timeless Tuesday Challenge.  This week, our Guest Hostess is the wonderfully talented Jessi Fogan!  She has challenged us to make a shaker card....how FUN!  You can read all of the details here

As as extra little bonus, here is a fabulous tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers.  For my card, I decided to use the new Lots of Thoughts set.  I love that little champagne glass and strawberry!  I also decided to make this card a little on the shabby side...a technique that I admire in cards but struggle with in execution.  The patterned papers are from an Authentique 6x6 pad and I also used Flourishes Classic White card stock and papers from the Color Made Easy Poppy Collection.

My image was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics.  I used the Spellbinders' Card Creator Fancy Postage Edge and A2 Card Creator A sets for my window and panels.  Then, I did a little stitching around my card.  For my shaker element, I used a variety glass beads to serve as my champagne bubbles. A little lace, ribbon, and the sentiment oval finish this card off.  I originally planned on this being a New Year's card but with the use of these pink papers, I think it could be used for other special occasions too.

Well, that is all for my little card, but you should really check out what my team mates have created....I am sure there is a whole lotta shakin' goin' on.....lol!  I hope you can play along with us this week for this super fun challenge....be sure you link up your creation for a chance to win a prize too!  I can't wait to see what you create!  I hope you have a  wonderful New Year's and I'll be seeing you next week with another fun challenge! Take care...

Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday #233

Hello there everyone and welcome back for another Timeless Tuesday Challenge!  Our hostess this week is the incredibly talented Broni and she has challenged us to use Autumn colors (FTTC233)!  This is one of my favorite times of year...when the air starts getting a little crisp and cool, there is the scent of burning leaves, AND...college football season!!!  Woohoo!  I know, I know...but I just can't help myself!  I love watching college football, and I wish I could say that I only like to watch my beloved Georgia Bulldogs, but that wouldn't be true....just about any college football game will get my attention.  There is nothing better than watching football all day on Saturday!  Well, unless it's making a card, right?  And speaking of that...let's get to this week's challenge!  You can read all of the details here.

I have always loved the Autumn Blossoms stamp set and the A Season of Thanks set so I thought I would combine the two.  I stamped my image on Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copics.  Then I die cut it with a Spellbinders Large Oval nestie and sponged some Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink around it while it was still in the die.  My sentiment was also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Next, I die cut a Spellbinders Large Deckled Oval from more cream card stock and inked it with Memento Nautical Blue ink.  I cut out a larger oval from some blue patterned paper out of the Traditions by Samantha Walker Carta Bella 6x6 pad using a Fiskars oval template.  My card base is die cut using Spellbinders' Floral Oval nestie set with more cream card stock.  I'll bet you know what I did next, don't you?  Yep...pulled out my trusty Krylon 18KT Gold Leafing pen and colored in my floral frame and a border around my colored image. I have had a few of you ask about how I edge my images with the gold leafing pen.  It is really very simple...the pen has a wide tip on it and I just hold it to my die cut and free hand a border around it.  Trust me, it really is simple because the pen tip is kind of spongey, after a few passes with the pen, you start to wear a little groove in it...and that is the sweet spot..lol!  Just keep going back to that little groove and you get a perfect edge every time....I promise!  :)   All that was left was to assemble my layers.  I fought the urge to try to use some pearls or something else on here and stepped away from the card.

I am always amazed at the detail on Flourishes' stamps and this one is no exception!  Just look at those tiny leaves and that darling pumpkin!

Well, that is about all for this post, but don't stop here.  I am sure my team mates have plenty of beauties for you to see, so go check them out....and don't forget to leave a little love while you are there!  Next, go work on your own Autumn Colors creations and link up to our challenge for a chance to win a prize.  Remember, you don't have to use Flourishes stamps, but if you have 'em, use 'em!  It increases your chances to win!  I can't wait to see what you come up with!  Until next Tuesday....and have a great week!  :)
