A Power Poppy & Sweet Petunia Blog Hop!

Hi there and Happy Friday to you!  I hope this day finds you well.  Wow, do I have some exciting news to share with you!  Today Power Poppy is teaming up with My Sweet Petunia for a blog hop!  I had the honor and pleasure of creating using MISTI product for today's card.

So, for my card today I chose to use a few of the sentiments and the wedding cake image from Power Poppy's Dream Wedding stamp set.  I thought it would be fun to do a stacked repeat of the sentiments and the MISTI certainly makes precision stamping a s-n-a-p!

I ended up using three of the sentiments for my card.  My image was stamped and colored with Copics.  To add a little extra something to my image, I used an impression plate to give my paper a linen look after coloring then I die cut the image using a rectangle die.  After adding some shimmer with my Wink of Stella clear pen, I gold leafed the edges. Next, I layered some patterned paper on my card base and adhered my image and sentiment panels.

I decided to leave off any embellishments on this card so the sentiment treatment and image could really shine.  I really cannot believe how easy it was to create this sentiment panel using the MISTI!  Everything lined up so beautifully.

Here is one last little look at the sentiments and Marcella's  lovely cake image...I always have so much fun coloring that image up!  :)  So that is all for my card today, but now it is time to share some of the really good news....you can win a gift code for $25 in the Power Poppy store from Power Poppy or your choice of a MISTI or a Mini MISTI from My Sweet Petunia just by leaving comments on all of the blogs listed below on the hop.  How exciting is that?!

And if that wasn't news enough....today marks the beginning of Power Poppy's next Power & Spark Challenge.  That darling and incredibly creative Julie Koerber is the hostess and she has an awesome sketch challenge just waiting for you to put your own creative spin on.....so make sure you check out all of the details for this here...you can win a free stamp set!  Yay!

I am so glad you were able to stop by today and I can't wait for you to see all of the creative loveliness along the hop today.  Make sure you leave a little blog love at each stop for your chance to win!  My Sweet Petunia will announce the winner of the MISTI on April 14th here.  Power Poppy will announce their winners on April 14th on the Power Poppy blog.  Good luck and happy hopping!  :)

Happy Power Poppy Friday with February's Power & Spark Challenge!

Hi there and a very happy Friday to you!  Do you have big plans for the weekend?  Any crafty time set aside?  I wanted to share a card I made for the newest Power Poppy Power & Spark Challenge hosted by the incredibly talented and super sweet Copic Diva, Cindy Lawrence.  She has really thrown down quite a challege....just take a lookie....

Ok, so time for a true confession here...I have never tried the no line coloring technique.  Nope, never.  To be honest, it has always scared me to pieces.  I am and always have been a color in the lines kinda girl....I need my lines....lol.  So, this really was quite a challenge for me but I swallowed hard and plunged ahead.  I have to say, I really enjoyed the process.  I spent a good bit of time coloring my image but it was a learning process.

I started by using a second generation stamping of an image from the Dream Wedding stamp set using Memento's Tuxedo Black ink on to some Rustic White card stock from Papertrey Ink.  I colored my image with a ton of Copics....I am a little embarrassed to list them all, but I will list them below.  Next, I stamped my sentiment from the same stamp set with PTI's Smokey Shadow ink.  Then, I die cut my image with a My Favorite Things die, sponged on some Ranger Distress Ink in Iced Spruce, and layered it with a die cut panel from another My Favorite Things die.  I trimmed a white card stock panel, rounded the top corners, stitched a bit of patterned paper, spritzed a few inks around, added some PTI Chai and Chamomile distress inks along some edges and then adhered my layered image.  A silver cord bow finishes off the panel....all that was left was to adhere the assembled card front to my card base.  As an afterthought, I pulled out my Wink of Stella clear brush pen and added a little shimmer to the cake which led to me pulling out my Copic Opaque White to add a couple of highlights to my finished image.

Leave it to Marcella to imagine the ultimate botanical wedding cake!  Wouldn't you just love to see one of these in real life?!

One last parting photo of Marcella's dreamy cake.  What fun this was to color up!

So that is all for my card today, but several of my Bloomie sisters have created some show stoppers for your no line coloring inspiration.  You do not want to miss a single one of these beauties...trust me.  Make sure you leave them a little blog love as you visit and then why don't you join along in our new challenge?  When you are done, link up your photo to the  Power Poppy blog post for a chance to win a prize!

I am so glad you could stop by today.  I hope you have a great weekend and until next time, take care....
