Happy Power Poppy Friday~August 17!

Hello there and welcome back to another Power Poppy Friday inspiration post.  I sure hope all is well where you are!  All is good here....hot...and HUMID....but all good!  :)  Today I have a petite card to share with you using Power Poppy's Geraniums Take Two stamp set.

I started by stamping my image and sentiment with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink on to white card stock.  After die cutting my image, I colored it with Copics and added a little Ranger Distress ink in Antique Linen.  I also used some Papertrey Ink Chai and Chamomile inks then added some shimmer with a Wink of Stella clear brush pen.  I adhered my image panel to a die cut card base layered with a bit of patterned paper.  The finished card measures 3 1/4" x 4 1/2".

This image was a very quick color up....I stippled the blooms with a few shades of red....nothing precise at all...just some color to make them pop.  I just love this sweet scene....complete with a little spritz can!  I am always amazed at Marcella's creativity and attention to every detail.  :)

I couldn't resist one last close up of all of the beautiful details in Marcella's image....and that sweet little sentiment!

So, that is all for my card today, but some of my Bloomie sisters have some beauties to share with you today.  Make sure you leave a little blog love for them when you visit. Also make sure you check out the Power Poppy blog for all of the latest goings on over there....so much to see!   I thank you  for stopping by today and hope to see you again really soon.  Until then, have a wonderful weekend and take care!  :)

Happy Power Poppy Friday~August 25th

Hello there and welcome!  I hope you have had a wonderful week!  I have a little card to share for Power Poppy's Friday inspiration today featuring the Prairie Cheer stamp set.

And when I say little card....I do mean that!  This card measures a petite 2 3/4" x 4".  I started by stamping my image and die cutting it out.  After coloring it up with Copics, I added a little shimmer with a Wink of Stella clear brush pen and some ink spatters with a Stampin' Up! tool.  I stitched a bit of gingham paper onto some purple card stock, tied on a bit of ribbon and then attached the panel to my card base.  After rounding the corners, I added my image panel with foam dimensionals.  I used a hole punch to notch out a little spot on  my image panel before adhering it so it could snug up to my bow.

I think this sweet coneflower is somethin' else, how about you?  Marcella really packed the detail in this sweet bloom!  :)

So that is all for my card today but some of my amazingly talented Bloomie sisters have created some real beauties for your Friday inspiration....make sure you leave a little blog love when you visit.  I thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you will pop in again soon.  Until then, take care.

Happy Power Poppy Friday~August 11!

Hello there and a very happy Friday to you!  I hope this day finds you well.  This girl is so very happy for the weekend, how about you?  :)

I thought I would share a card featuring one of Power Poppy's new stamps Dahlia XL.

Isn't she a beaut?  One h-u-g-e and glorious dahlia to color to your heart's content...what could be better?  ;)  I am quite certain that if the botanical world had superheroes, this dahlia would be one of them!  :)

For my card, I started by die cutting a panel from white card stock, stamped my image and my sentiment, and then stitched some patterned paper to the bottom.  After coloring my image with Copics, I sponged some ink around, added some shimmer with a Wink of Stella pen and then adhered it to a card base.  Can't get much easier than that, right?  :)  This card measures 3 3/8" x 5".

Just when you think you've seen it all.....here comes another gorgeous bloom compliments of Marcella.  As always, this image was a complete joy to color!

And how about that sweet little sentiment, also from this set!
So that is all for my card today but some of my A-mazing Bloomie sisters have some beautiful cards to share with you for your Friday inspiration.  And speaking of inspiration...have you checked out Power Poppy's newest Power & Spark Challenge hosted by the incredibly talented Tosha Leyendekker?  OH, it's a goodie...so make sure you do and come play along for your chance to win a prize!

Power Poppy's Abundance Stamp Release~Day2!

Hello there and welcome for Day 2 of Power Poppy's Abundance stamp release!  I hope you enjoyed yesterday's festivities.  Today's set is one I know you will love!  She is making her debut in polymer after being wildly popular as a digital stamp...say hello to Pure Prairie Spirit!  :)

Can you believe it?!  Yay, she's a stamp!

I chose to keep my card super simple....no stitching, no buttons, no ribbon....just this beautiful image front and center (well, a little off center actually...lol) and this amazing sentiment to go with it.

I made my card base using a couple of die cut panels from blue card stock and then trimmed a white card stock panel for my image.  After stamping the image with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink, I colored my image in with Copics.  I added a little shimmer with a Wink of Stella clear brush pen and and adhered the image panel to my card base.  This card measures 4" x 5 1/4".

Don't you just love it when Marcella does bouquets?  Her arrangements are always so wonderfully unique and detailed.  I usually like to research each flower but this time I just pulled a few fistfuls of markers and started coloring.....not sure how accurate some of these blooms are but that is part of the fun...you can color them up any way you wish!  :)

So that is all for my card today, but you know those incredible Bloomie teammates of mine have loads of beautiful cards for you to see and that darling Marcella has a post to share on the Power Poppy blog, so make sure you check them all out and leave some blog love while you hop!  I hope you can stop back by tomorrow for Day 3 of our release....tomorrow's set is really going to make your little crafty heart go pitter patter!  Promise!  ;)  Thank you so much for your visit and until next time, take care!

Power Poppy's Abundance Stamp Release~Day 1!

Hello there and happy Wednesday to you!  I hope your week is going well.  Today is Day 1 of Power Poppy's Abundance stamp release.  I can not wait for you to see all that Marcella has in store for you.....the new stamps are nothing short of I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E!  Yep, I busted out the all caps for that!  ;)  Truly, the images....and the cards you will see from my oh-so-amazing Bloomie sisters....are going to blow your socks off!  Today's preview set is Vibrant Thanks....just take a lookie at this beauty!

Did you notice the zinnias in this snippet?  Well, that is not the only bloom in this set!  I'll bet as you make the hop, you will spy the others.  For my card, I chose to use the bee balm image with an adorable sentiment....

Hi!  :)  Isn't that the most darling little sentiment?  Since I wanted to spotlight a single stem of bee balm, I scaled my card size down a bit.  This card measures 3 1/4" x 4 1/2".    I started by die cutting my image panel, masking the edges with sticky notes, and stamping the bee balm image with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink.  I stamped the image off on a piece of scrap paper again and fussy cut it out to make a mask.  After placing the mask over my stamped image, I inked up the stamp with Memento's LuLu Lavender ink and stamped a few more blooms in the background.  Next, I sponged Ranger Distress Ink in Weathered Wood around the entire panel.

After I gave it a couple of minutes to dry a bit, I started coloring my main bloom with Copics. I used a Prismacolor white pencil to add a few highlights here and there and then my Wink of Stella clear brush pen to add some shimmer.  Next, I stamped the sentiment with my trusty MISTI.  :)  The fun part was peeling off the sticky notes to reveal a clean edge around my panel!  Next, I added some gold leafing with a Krylon 18 KT gold leafing pen and then attached my image to a trimmed card stock panel.  Lastly, I adhered everything to a die cut scalloped rectangle card base.

Isn't that the daintiest little flower you've ever seen?  That Marcella really knows how to capture even the tiniest of details with her blooms and as always....this was a complete joy to color!

Well, that is all for my card today but like I mentioned earlier, you must see all of the beautiful creations my Bloomie sisters have for your inspiration as well as see Marcella's post on today's set over on the Power Poppy blog.  Make sure you leave a little blog love while you hop and then I would love it if you could stop back by tomorrow for Day 2 of this wonderful release!  Thank you so much for your visit today and until next time, take care!  :)

Everything's Rosy for Power Poppy Friday!

Hi there and welcome!  I'm so glad you could stop in for a bit!  I hope your day is off to a great start.  Things are going very well here.  Today I have a Power Poppy Friday post to share with you using an image from the Everything's Even Rosier set.

I was in need of a special card for a very special person this week....one of my mother's physicians.  It was time for my mom's 5 year appointment with her oncologist.  This was for her final visit after her breast cancer treatments.  I cannot tell you how very grateful we have been that mom had such a wonderful physician watching over her.  She really took such good care of mom.  What a blessing she has been to mom, and to me.  We made a day of it...went to mom's final appointment (lots of hugs there), then lunch, some shopping....it was just such an amazing day all around! :)

So for my card, I knew I wanted to use the roses image and I knew I wanted lots of pink!  I kept the card design pretty simple...just a couple of patterned papers, a little stitching, and a couple of layered dies to frame the image.  I stamped the image with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with sooo many Copics....I have a pile of them on my desk, and I will try to list them all below!  :)  The sentiment is actually from the So Grateful stamp set and I stamped it in more of the Tuxedo Black ink.

I just love all of the details in this image....the two different cups, and several blooms....petals....buds....just what any rose lover would want, don't you think?  :)

So that is all for my card today but some of my Bloomie sisters have created some beauties for you to check out.  Make sure you leave a little blog love while you are there too!  I thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you will come back again soon.  Until next time, take care!  :)

Hello Sunshine!

Hello there and a very Happy Friday to you!  I hope this day finds you well.  Have you got big plans for the weekend?  I do!!  This weekend is the opening weekend for college football and you know Matt and I will be cheering on our beloved Georgia Bulldogs!  Go DAWGS!!! :)  This will be a football weekend extravaganza, for sure!  I'm sure I'll be getting a little crafty time in too.  Speaking of, how about I share a little card I made for today's Power Poppy Friday?  I used the large sunflower image and one of the sentiments from the new In Praise of Sunflowers set.  I also used a partial sentiment from the Good Thinking: Love Notes stamp set.

I started by die cutting my image panel using a Spellbinders Matting Basics A die and stamping my image with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored up my image with Copics then stamped part of a sentiment with Papertrey Ink's Smokey Shadow ink on to a strip of patterned paper from Teresa Collins' "Vintage Finds" 6x6 paper pad and secured it to my image panel with a bit of adhesive.  Next, I used my newest craft room acquisition, a MISTI, to stamp the other sentiment with more Smokey Shadow ink below my paper strip.  Then  I went ahead and stitched the sentiment strip in place.  Yep, the days of crooked sentiment stamping are over!  Well, if I remember to use the MISTI they will be over....if I convince myself that I can stamp straight without  it, then....you get the picture.  :) .  For my main card panel, I trimmed it to 3 3/4" x 5 3/8".  Then I added some green gingham patterned paper from Graphic 45's "Time to Flourish" 6x6 pad and stitched it in place.  I used a 1/4" corner rounder on the top corners and some Chai and Chamomile inks from PTI around some of the edges.  I trimmed, scored, and used the corner rounder on a card base the same dimensions as my largest panel and assembled everything.  To finish things off I used a Wink of Stella Clear brush pen on the sunflowers and an Atyou Spica pen in gold on the "Hello" to add some shimmer.

I would say that Marcella has really given these sunflowers their due praise, wouldn't you?  All of that lovely detail make this such fun to color!

Well, that is all for my card today, but several of my incredibly gifted Bloomie sisters have some beautiful creations to share with you for your Friday card inspiration.  Make sure you leave them a little blog love when you visit.  I thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!  I hope you'll stop by again soon....until then, take care!  :)

Power Poppy's August Stamp Release~Day 2!

Hi there my stamping friends!  Welcome back for Day 2 of Power Poppy's August stamp release! Today we are featuring In Praise of Sunflowers.  I'll bet she looks familiar to you!  :)  Marcella brought back her incredibly popular Sunflower digital images and combined them with some sweet sentiments.

For my card, I chose the sunflower bouquet in a vase.  I stamped the image with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink on to a die cut panel and colored it up with Copics.  I added a little shimmer with a Wink of Stella clear brush pen.  My card base is a couple of simple patterned paper layers with a punched trim, ribbon and button.  Some stitching adds a little extra detail.  To finish it off, I adhered my colored image panel.

Oh my goodness, how I love this image.  It was so much fun to color up!  All of those beautiful details that Marcella is so famous for definitely make this image a show stopper.  The finished size of this card is 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".

The set has some sweet sentiments in mixed fonts which I l-o-v-e!  I am trying to do a little better about showing a photo of the inside of the card.....I have been inspired by my lovely Bloomie sisters, Cindy Lawrence and Tosha Leyendekker.

Don't you just love those sentiments?!  Not sure if I  mentioned it or not, but I do!  ;)  I also love this image stamped in yellow!  No coloring whatsoever and she still looks stunning.

So that is all for my little card today, but once again, my a-mazingly talented Bloomie sisters have quite a hop for you so make sure you check them all out and leave a little blog love while you are there.  Don't forget to check out the post on Power Poppy's blog for some insight into Marcella's lovely images for this stamp set.  Then, please stop back by tomorrow for Day 3 of our August stamp release, the final set in the Nature and Nurture collection.  This set will have you wishing for those crisp autumn days that are hopefully coming soon!  I am certainly ready for some cooler weather.  :) Thank you so much for stopping by today and until tomorrow, take care!

Happy Friday with a NEW Power Poppy Power & Spark Challenge!

Hi there and happy Friday to you!  I hope this day finds you well!  I wanted to share a little card I made for this month's Power & Spark Challenge at Power Poppy.  Our hostess this month is the ever so talented, super sweet, and power house marathon runner, Cindy Lawrence!  Is there anything this girl can't do?  I think not....lol!  :)  You go, Cindy!  She has come up with an awesome challenge for us....just take a lookie......

Here is what Cindy says about her challenge:

The Happy Mail Challenge! How many times have you created a card only to have it sit in a basket waiting for that perfect occasion? This time, let’s flip that around and create a card with someone in mind and then, slap a stamp on that baby and put it in the mail! Keep in mind, we want this to be a card “just because.” Sure special occasions are important, but we want this one to be about simply sharing the love – not for birthdays or graduations or anniversaries—a “just because you care” kind of card for someone you’ve had on your mind. The challenge runs through June 30th at 8PM EST for a chance at a Power Poppy stamp set of choice. The Challenge kicks off Friday, June 3rd.

Now how fun is that?!  I am so guilty of not sending cards "just because" and honestly, aren't those the best kind?  So, I pulled out a set I haven't used in a while, Sunny Harvest, and went to work...

I even took my photos outside on my front porch this morning....it is supposed to be a sunny day today!  :)  I stamped my image with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink onto some Rustic Cream card stock from Papertrey Ink and colored it with Copics.  I added a little shimmer with my Wink of Stella Clear Brush pen and some shine with a  Sakura clear glaze pen.  After fussy cutting it out I set it aside and die cut the layers for my card using Spellbinders Marvelous Squares die set, more of the cream card stock and a bit of kraft card stock.  I added some trimmed layers in a chocolate brown to give a little more depth of color to the card base.  After sponging on  PTI's Chamomile, Chai, and Vintage Cream inks, I did some stitching, stamped my sentiment from the same set, assembled my layers, added the twine and then adhered my fussy cut image with foam dimensionals.

I just love this sweet sentiment and the darling bouquet of sunflowers was super fun to color.  Now, all that's left is to put it in an envelope, stamp it, and send it off to a sweet someone.....just because.  Thanks again, to Cindy, for such an awesome challenge!  Would you like to see some of the amazing creations my Bloomie sisters have created for your inspiration?  Well just hop on over to each one and make sure you leave a little blog love while you are there!  I am so glad you could stop in for a bit today!  I hope you have something fun planned.....as for me, I am going to enjoy this sunny day in  my yard by planting dianthus, coral bells, and hostas!  Until next time, take care!  :)

Oh shoot....I almost forgot some BIG news!!!  Power Poppy is being featured on the Passionate Paper Creations and Friends Facebook page here.  In honor of this special occasion, Power Poppy will be having a little contest.  Check this out!

It's Another Power Poppy Friday!

Hi there and a very Happy Friday to you!  Do you have big plans for the weekend? I hope it includes a little crafty time.  :)  Today I have a card to share with you using Power Poppy's new set My English Rose.  I kept this card very simple in design so that big, beautiful rose bloom would be center stage....

I started by stamping my image with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink on to Papertrey Ink's Rustic White card stock and coloring it with Copics.  I ended up getting my rose a little on the dark side and tried to add some white highlights back in with a Faber Castell pen but it was a little low on ink so I made the fatal mistake of trying to just dab some white ink around with a sponge.....wrong move!  It whited out some of my detail and there was no getting that back so it is what it is at this point....sigh.  I went ahead and fussy cut my colored image out, added some shimmer with a Wink of Stella Clear brush pen and set it aside.  Next, I die cut my layers using Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles die set and Papertrey Ink's Kraft card stock and also a bit of lined note paper from My Mind's Eye.  I used PTI's Fresh Snow ink to sponge around the kraft layers and then their Chamomile ink to sponge around the lined dp layer.  Then, I stamped my sentiment from the same stamp set using Versafine Black Onyx ink.  I sewed on a couple of buttons from PTI then assembled all of my layers on to my card base with foam dimensionals.  Lastly,  I used Collall to adhere my rose to my card.

I love all of the detail on this gorgeous Marcella image....just look at all of those layers of petals....and try not to notice the whited out details from my bad ink job....lol!  That is all for my card today, but several of my Bloomie sisters have created some pretty spectacular cards for your Friday inspiration.  Make sure you make the rounds and leave a little blog love while you are there.  Before I go, have you heard about the new Power & Spark challenge kicking off this month on the Power Poppy blog hosted by that oh-so-adorable Stacy Morgan?  Ooooo, this one's a goodie!

HOW TO PLAY:  The Peek-A-Boo is a special sketch challenge, where you create cut-outs on your card to share a snippet or give a “peek” of fun underneath! Stacy wants to let you know that even though the shapes in our sketch are circles, let your imagination flow and make them any ’ol shape you like! To prove this point, Stacy used hearts. Oh, she also wants you to use at least two panels as well, which makes sense with this peek-a-boo sketch!

Thank you so very much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a great weekend and until next time, take care!
