It's Another Power Poppy Friday!

Happy Friday to you and welcome!  I hope your day is going well.  Got anything special planned for the weekend?  I am looking forward to some quiet (and hopefully crafty) time at home.  :)  I have a card to share with you that was inspired by that darling Julie Koerber's latest Hues to Use challenge over on the Power Poppy blog.  You can see all of the details here!  :)

Aren't those blues a lovely combination?  There are so many possibilities!  For my card, I chose to use the Sweet Memories stamp set for my image and the sentiment is from the Burst of Kindness set.

I started by stamping my image with Memento's Tuxedo black ink on a piece of cream card stock trimmed slightly larger than the navy frame that it would be layered underneath.  After coloring it up with Copics and adding some shimmer with my Wink of Stella clear brush pen, I used my Krylon 18KT gold leafing to give the edges a nice finish.

Next, I assembled my card front using a couple of different patterned papers, a strip of navy paper at the top and a bit of punched trim at the bottom.  After stitching it all together, I adhered it to a navy card base.  This card measures 3 5/8" x 5 5/8".  *If you've ever wondered why my cards sometimes have some pretty strange measurements, it's because many times I use a layering die for one of my panel cuts and then I either build the card out or in based on what size I used.  In this case, I used a rectangle die for the largest patterned paper cut and then trimmed the other patterned paper to fit inside it.

For my sentiment, I stamped it on to a banner die cut using Stampin' Up!'s Night of Navy ink.  *I will add here that I used Papertrey Ink's Chamomile and Chai inks to distress the edges of my panels before I put everything together.

Isn't that delicate swirling stem detail simply precious?  Marcella really did a beautiful job capturing that Sweet Pea's dainty personality, don't you think?  :)

So that is all for my card today, but some of my Bloomie sisters have some beautiful cards to share with you for your crafty inspiration.  Make sure you leave them a little blog love while you are there and then I hope you will pop back in soon for another visit.  Have a great weekend and until next time, take care!  :)

Happy Power Poppy Friday!

Hello there and a very happy Friday to you!  I have a super quick post to share with you today featuring Power Poppy's new for June Power & Spark challenge.  This month's hostess is the amazingly talented and super sweet Julie Koerber!  You can read all of the details here.

Is that not the cutest challenge idea?  :)  So for my card, I ended up using three different stamp sets...Dynamic Duos: Glads and Gerberas, Nice Things to Say, and for my little bee image, Burst of Kindness.

I started by stamping my gerbera image, die cutting my rectangle and coloring it in with Copics.  Next I stamped my sentiment, sponged on some distress inks and tied a bit of string around the panel.  I also added some shimmer with my Wink of Stella clear brush pen.

Next, I trimmed some card stock and patterned papers, did some stitching, added some sponged distress inks and assembled all to my card base.  This card measures 3 1/2" x 5" .  Lastly, I added my image panel with some foam dimensionals.

I just love this image!!  It is such fun to color....that Marcella really knows her way around a bloom, doesn't she?  :)  Here's one last view....

So that is all for my card today, but some of my Bloomie sisters have created some beauties for your Friday inspiration.  Make sure you check them out and leave a little blog love while you are there.  Thank you so very much for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  Until next time, take care!  :)

Power Poppy's March Stamp Release~Day 2!

Hi there....so happy to see you back!  Did you enjoy all of the festivities over on the Power Poppy blog yesterday?  That Marcella really knows how to celebrate Spring, doesn't she?  :)  Now try to contain yourself with what I am about to tell you.....today's release is showcasing two new stamp sets!  I know!  Two in one day....pretty awesome, right?!  For my card today, I chose to use the new stamp set, Burst of Kindness

Now, this beauty may look familiar to you....that is because the main image debuted as a digital image for purchase a while back but by popular demand....she is back, newly accessorized and available as a stamp set!

I started by stamping my image with Memento's Tuxedo black ink, die cutting my image out then stamping my sentiment with Versafine's Onyx Black ink.  After using a ton of Copics to color my image, I added some gold leafing to the edges with my Krylon 18KT Gold Leafing pen and some shimmer with my Wink of Stella clear brush pen then set the panel aside.  I die cut a panel of blue card stock, stitched some patterned paper to it, layered my colored image panel with a scalloped die cut of white card stock and adhered it to my stitched panel.  I used foam tape to add some dimension.  Lastly, I adhered the assembled panels to a card base.  This card measures 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".

Do you ever wonder how on earth Marcella packs all of that glorious detail in to each of her images?  Yeah....me too...all the time.  :)

And here is one last lookie at that lovely image and the super sweet sentiment.  She really was so much fun to color up and I know you will enjoy it too!  :)

So that is all for my card today, but you know my incredibly talented Bloomie sisters are bringing it, B-I-G TIME...so make sure you check out all of the floral goodness, leave a little blog love while you are there, then make plans to join us again for Day 3 of Power Poppy's Spring Fling stamp release.  Yay!  So looking forward to seeing you again soon...until then, take care!  :)
