Hi there and Happy Friday! I am so excited to be posting a Power Poppy Friday card today. I have sure missed posting these last few weeks. Unfortunately, I have had a few medical issues that required me to take some time off but I am slowly getting stronger and back to my ol' self and hope to be 100% soon. For today's card I used the dreamy Everything's Even Rosier stamp set. Nobody illustrates roses better than Marcella...after some serious thought I decided to use the large single rose bud for my card. I stamped the image a few times with Papertrey Ink's Autumn Rose ink onto a die cut using Spellbinder's Labels Twenty Eight die set. Next, I stamped the rose again using Memento's Tuxedo black ink colored it with Copics, sponged some Ranger Distress ink in Evergreen Bough around the die cut and used my Krylon 18KT gold leafing pen to finish off the edge. I struggled a little bit with how to finish my card base....honestly, it felt like I had forgotten how to make a card! :) Do you ever have times like that? I finally decided to just keep it really simple so I used a couple of patterned papers and stitched them on a card base panel then adhered it to my card base. I rounded the corners with a 3/8" corner chomper from We R Memory Keepers. Lastly, I adhered the sentiment panel to my card base and then adhered my fussy cut rose with foam dimensionals. Did I mention I added some sparkle to the rose with a Wink of Stella clear glitter pen? Well, I did! :) This finished card measures 3 3/8" x 4 7/8".
Don't you just love all of that beautiful detail in the rose and how about the lovely scripted sentiment? Marcella, aka the Bloom Whisperer, strikes again! I was so excited to see all of her beautiful new sets!
Just look at that pretty little rose bud...such a dream to color up and the sentiment with its mixed font is so very dreamy, don't you think? :) Well that is all for my card today but there are some beautiful creations compliments of my Bloomie sisters for your creative inspiration. Make sure you leave a little blog love while you are there. And, if you haven't popped over to the Power Poppy blog lately, you really should! Lots of beautiful things going on over there including new digi releases and a day or two remaining for the July Power & Spark Challenge with the lovely Copic diva Kathy Jones hosting this one! :) Thank you so much for your visit today and I hope to see you again soon. Until then, take care.

ReplyDeleteA softly stunning beauty, Katie! You always put a lot of thought into your designs and it shows. You're one of the most thoughtful stampers I know! It's so good to see you stamping again and feeling better. I missed this yesterday because I'm changing everyone over to Feedly and, well, you've been off the grid for a while. Thanks so much for stopping by my new blog!

ReplyDeleteKatie girl I can't decide whether your design skills are getting even better (if that is possible) or if you're just slowly letting us in on how amazing you really are. :-) Gorgeousness in the way you colored the rose and the shadow print behind.
