A Power Poppy Friday with Cozy Cupfuls!

Hi there and happy Friday to you!  Have you got big plans?  I am looking forward to a couple of quiet days at home.  :)  I thought I would share another card I made using the adorable new Power Poppy stamp set, Cozy Cupfuls.  This time I used the little tea cup complete with it's own Christmas tree.  That Marcella thinks of everything, doesn't she?  I mean, who else could even imagine a Christmas tree in a tea cup, right?  Well, let me show you what I created with this darling image.

I love Christmas cards with a pink, green, white and black color scheme so that is the direction I took here.  I used a die from Spellbinders' Long Classic Rectangles Large set for my main image panel and then layered the card around it....the finished size ended up being 3 3/4" x 6 7/8".  I stamped my image using Memento's Tuxedo Black ink and colored it up with Copics.  I added sparkle with a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter brush pen then added Ranger Glossy Accents on the ornaments.  I used a gold Atyou Spica glitter pen to trim the tea cup and saucer and then a silver Atyou Spica glitter pen for the large ornament hook.  I stitched on the green patterned paper, stamped my sentiment, then added ribbon and attached the buttons with some cream hemp cord.  I stitched the black gingham paper on a white panel and then attached it to my card base.  When everything was dry, I adhered my image panel with foam dimensionals.

I think this is the sweetest image...I love the detail that Marcella added to the tea cup and the ornament in the saucer.  The little tree was a cinch to color up....there is so much detail, I just dotted different colors of green in there and kind of smudged it around with the lightest shade and it turned out great.....definitely a quick color up!

Well that is all for my card today, but my Bloomie sisters have some mighty pretty creations just waiting for you to see!  Make sure you leave them a little blog love while you are there, k?  I am so glad you were able to pop in for a visit!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend and until next time, take care!  :)

It's the Power Poppy October Blog Hop!

Hello there!  I'm so glad you could stop by today!  Power Poppy's October Blog Hop is today and you know what that means....all of the gorgeous stamps you have been seeing this week are now available for purchase in the Power Poppy Store!  Yay!  But before you jet outta here, let me show you what I made using the incredibly detailed Olive and Oak Expanded stamp set...k?

This glorious set is an expansion of the wildly popular Olive and Oak digital image.  We have all seen some amazingly colored samples from not only the Bloom Brigade but also our sister team the Instant Gardeners.....man did they ever show this image off to perfection!  Soooo, I thought that I might do something a little different here.  I took a page out of the incredibly talented and super sweet  Cheryl Scrivens' design book and kept this image fairly simple.  She had designed a card with this set and left it completely uncolored and it was fabulous!  Here is the link to that beauty!  For mine, after stamping my image in Memento's Tuxedo Black ink, I just colored the acorns and olives.  I did a fair amount of sponging with Papertrey Ink's Chai and Chamomile inks and also a little Ranger Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap.  My sentiment was stamped with Stampin' Up!'s Cajun Craze ink.  I spritzed some ink from SU!'s Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, and Pumpkin Pie markers around the leaves for a hint of color.  To finish this card off I rounded the top right corner , stitched a strip of patterned paper from Papertrey Ink and added some PTI ribbon in Terracotta Tile.  Oh...I also added sparkle around the image with my Wink of Stella Clear glitter pen.

Talk about a quickie card here.....it came together in a snap!  You could very easily mass produce this for your Fall card making.

I don't think I was able to get a shot so you could see the sparkle, but it is there...I promise! :)

That is all for my card today but make sure you check out what all of my Bloomie teammates created for you using all of the new additions to the Happiest Holiday Collection.  You are in for a real treat...and then after that, you can make some of these amazing sets your very own...like, today!  I am so glad you were able to stop by today for a visit.  I hope you have enjoyed seeing this new release as much as we have enjoyed creating projects for you!  Until next time, take care..... :)

Power Poppy October Release-Day 5!

Hi there friends and welcome!  I hope you have been enjoying all of the wonderful October Release festivities on the Power Poppy blog.  Marcella has added quite a few beauties to her Happiest Holiday Collection.  Have you been able to decide on a favorite stamp set yet?  That's a toughie, isn't it?  Well, today's set is sure to win your heart...say hello to Cozy Cupfuls!

Oh, the sweet little images you will see in this set!  You will have a tough time deciding what to color up first!  :)  For my card today, I chose the little gift grouping with mug of cocoa.  Wanna see?

I colored up this darling image with Copics and then fussy cut it out.  I added some sparkle here and there with my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen and some shine to the mug using Ranger's Glossy Accents.  My card base is die cut from Papertrey Ink's Rustic White card stock using Spellbinders Grand Squares die set.  I used some pinking shears to cut one of the card layers out of kraft wrapping paper and stitched it in place.  I die cut some green print paper with a Spellbinders die from the Classic Squares Large set and stitched it onto a white card stock layer.  I stamped my sentiment then wrapped some ribbon around the panel and added a button with hemp twine.  All of my layers got distressed with Papertrey Ink's Chai and Chamomile inks.  Lastly, I adhered my layers together and secured  my fussy cut image with foam dimensionals and some Collall,

I l-o-v-e the darling little presents and that little deer mug.....sigh.  Now I wanna find a for real mug like that!  ;)  Again, Marcella has thought of every teeny tiny detail to make these images look like they stepped right out of a treasured Christmas memory.  How does she do that?!

Well, that is all for my card today, but you know what's next.....please make sure you check out what my amazing Bloomie sisters have created to tantalize you with and leave a little blog love while you are there.  I hope you will be able to pop back in tomorrow for one last hurrah....the Power Poppy Blog Hop!  Until then, take care!  :)  OH, and remember....tomorrow all of the sets will be available for purchase in the Power Poppy store!

Power Poppy October Release-Day 3!

Hello there friends!  I hope you have been having a great week thus far......if you have caught the peeks the last couple of days on the Power Poppy blog then I know you've had a great week!  ;)  Marcella really pulled out all of the stops for this amazing release....new additions to her Happiest Holiday Collection!  These beautiful images will make you fall in love with Christmas all over again....and again.....and again.  I am thrilled to be able to join in for today's stamp set feature, Wreaths Plain & Fancy....just get a load of this beauty....

The first time I saw this image, I had a little chorus of "This Little Light of Mine" pop in my head and it has pretty much been there ever since....;)  This gorgeous set comes with two different wreaths and several sweet little images and sentiments that you can plop right in the center of a wreath or use as an accent or however your little heart wants to use them!  I chose the darling single candle to put in the center of the larger wreath.......

Now I ask you...has there ever been a more precious little wreath and candle image in existence?  I don't think so either!  I also need to add that I had an absolute blast coloring her up (as you can tell from my extensive list of Copic colors below.....sheesh, I think I got a little carried away....lol).  I decided to do a circle shaped card to mimic the wreath shape and layered it up to give it more depth.  I chose my copic colors to echo the colors in the patterned papers I used so even though there is a lot of pattern and layering here, I don't think it looks overly busy.  I added a little Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to the candle flame and the berries and then added some Ranger Glossy Accents to the berries for more shine and then.... I added a little gold leafing with my Krylon 18KT gold leafing pen....I just couldn't help myself...

Can you believe all of the detail that Marcella can pack into a single image?!  I am always blown away!  If you are new to coloring, do not let all of this small detail intimidate you.....you do not have to be precise here....trust me!  You can dab a little of this and that like I did and come up with your own little work of heart.  If you will notice, I did not color all of the wreath in completely.....I left bits of very lightly colored areas to really make some of the other needles and leaves stand out more.  I also think this would be completely stunning stamped in a single color and left uncolored......gasp, did I just say that?!  That is the beauty of Marcella's images.....they are show stoppers as is!  :)

So that is all for my little card today but you know that my incredibly talented Bloomie sisters have so much more in store for you.....so go check it all out and make sure you leave them a little blog love while you are there.  I will be joining back in the fun on Saturday with my next project so I hope to see you then, but trust me when I say tomorrow's Power Poppy offering is going to delight you to no end....I just know it!  :)  Until then, take care!

It's Time for another Power Poppy Friday AND a Special Daily Marker Hop!

Hi there and Happy Friday to you!  Today Power Poppy has teamed up with the incredibly talented Kathy Racoosin for her 30 Day Coloring Challenge!  What's that, you ask?  Well, that clever Kathy has challenged everyone to take a little "me" time and just. color.....that's it!  Just spend some gloriously quiet time coloring your troubles away.....doesn't that sound wonderful?!  You can see all of the details here.

And hey.....have you checked out the latest Power & Spark Challenge on the Power Poppy blog.  That amazing Julie has thrown down a peach of a challenge.....you can read all about that here.

My card actually works for both of these challenges!  Lemme show you what I created.....

I have a serious crush on these darling bottlebrush trees from the Bottlebrush Holiday set so I thought I would do a quick color up and pair it with one of my all time favorite little sentiments from the Dynamic Duos: Glads and Gerberas set.  Since I was sending love, I thought why not make the card a postage stamp shape, so that's what I did!  A few simple layers, some stitching, a little sponging and my colored image now looks like a stamp...ready to send some Christmas love!  :)

I did add a little sparkle with my Atyou Spica clear glitter pen and then some shine with some Ranger Glossy Accents on the ornaments.  The papers are from a Graphic 45 paper pad that a dear friend gave me.  Don't you just love those little trees?!

Well, that is all for my card for today but there are beautiful cards a-plenty just waiting to inspire you so make sure you check out all that my sweet Bloomie sisters have created for you.  Leave a little love along the way....and a big hug to Kathy Racoosin for the inspiration too!   Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I'll be back soon with some new Power Poppy goodness to share.....Eeeeee!  :)  Until then, take care....
