Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday #244

Hi there everyone and welcome back for another Timeless Tuesday Challenge!  I am the hostess this week and the challenge theme is Mad for Plaid!  That's right...plaid or houndstooth....two of my favorite patterns, especially this time of year.  You can read all of the details here.

I decided to make a Halloween card since Thursday is the big day!  I don't usually send out Halloween cards but I have made a few to have around the house.  I have a curio cabinet that I like to decorate for the seasons and I like to keep a few seasonal cards in there and that is where this one will go.  I also just could not resist working with this darling stamp set...the images are so adorable!

I used the two pumpkins, flourish, and a sentiment from the Witching You a Happy Halloween stamp set.  You might have noticed that I gave the larger pumpkin a little "face lift"....lol.  He had a carved face too, but I only wanted one to be carved so I just did not ink that part of the stamp.  Isn't it fun when you can find a new way to use a stamp?  I colored them with Copics and fussy cut them for my image panel. I used a couple of new Spellbinder sets that I just received in the mail...perfect timing!  I thought the intricate dies would look great in black for Halloween and I used my black houndstooth paper behind my stamped images.  The little flourish stamp makes a great pumpkin vine and I added a little sparkle to it with my Atyou Spica clear pen although I don't think the photo picked it up.

That is quite a happy face, isn't it?  So are you inspired to make your own plaid or houndstooth creation now?  Make sure you check out all of my team mates creations....I am sure they have all worked their magic and given you plenty of wonderful projects to see...and make sure you leave them a little love on their blog while you are there!  Alrighty, so now let's see what you create for our challenge....I can't wait to see!  :)  Make sure you link up your creation for a chance to win a prize and remember....you can increase your chances by using a Flourishes stamp!  Happy Creating and see you next time!

Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday #243

Hi there everybody and welcome back for another Tuesday post!  Jenny is our wonderful hostess this week and our challenge is...

That's right....it's time to pull out those detail scissors and get to cuttin'!  I love to fussy cut images, so this challenge is right up my alley.

For my card, I used the Amaryllis image from A Year in Flowers 3.  I stamped my image several times on Flourishes Classic White card stock  with Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored them with Copics. I fussy cut the blooms and layered them onto my main fussy cut image.  Layering them really made them stand out!  I used my Atyou Spica clear pen to add a little glitter to the stamens of the Amaryllis.  My card base is made with my all time favorite Marianne Designs die "Anja's Squares" and of course, I had to edge things in my Krylon Gold Leafing pen.  My sentiment is stamped on a Spellbinders label die cut and I gold leafed the base of that too!  I sponged a little green ink on my label and behind the blooms for a little extra color and added some pearls to finish things off.

Here is a little close up of that beautiful image.  I love the fonts on these labels....so pretty!  It reminds me of a framed botanical print.  Here is a little better view so you can see the layers on the blooms...

There was definitely some fussy cutting going on around here for this card..lol!  Well, that is all for my card this week, but you really should check out what my team mates have created for you.  I am sure that there are some real beauties for you to see!  Make sure you leave them some blog love while you are getting your inspiration and then get to fussy cutting your own image and play along with us!  Don't forget to link up your creation for a chance to win a prize.  I can't wait to see what you create....see you next week!

Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday #242

Hi there everyone....long time, no post for me. Boy, have I missed playing along in the Timeless Tuesday Challenges and our wonderful hostess, Deborah, has an awesome one for us today.....use burlap or canvas on our creation (FTTC242)!  You can see all of the details here.

As luck would have it, I had just purchased some burlap ribbon a couple of weeks ago, and I had really been itching to use it on something.  I used an image and sentiment from the beautiful stamp set Autumn Blessings.  I stamped on some rustic card stock using Memento Espresso Truffle ink and colored it in using my Copics.  I scored and masked off a little strip across the bottom of my die cut before stamping my main image, then I stamped the little leaf multiple times across the bottom using orange and brown inks.  I had to blow the dust off my Krylon Gold Leafing pen and used it to add a border to the leaf trim and the edging of my die cut.  The rest of the card came together really quickly with a couple of layers of dp from Authentique's Thankful 6x6 paper pad, dark brown card stock, burlap ribbon, and some green twine.

Here's a close up of the leaf detail across the bottom of my die cut.  I colored the image really simply to tie in with the rustic cream card stock, frayed edges, sponged ink, burlap, and twine.  Isn't this image darling?  I love the sentiment font too...it looks so vintage to me!  Don't you just love those old greeting cards?  They are some of my favorites!  I can just smell the pumpkin pie in the oven now.... :)

Well, that is all for my card this week.  Be sure you check out all of the lovelies that my team mates have created....I am sure you will get lots of inspiration there...and make sure to leave them some blog love while you are there!  See you next week and thanks so much for stopping by!
