Power Poppy's August Blog Hop!

Hi there and welcome back for the final day of blog hops for Power Poppy's August Release!  I hope you have enjoyed all of the release week festivities as much as we have enjoyed preparing them for you!  For today's card, I chose to use the Well Played set again but I paired it with a sentiment from the Good Thinking: Love Notes set for a punny little CAS card.  This is a real switch from my normal card style but my inner goof ball won out this time, so just bear with me here......;)

I have SO enjoyed playing with this set.  I thought I would try a CAS styled card again and use the little 45 rpm adapter thing-y's along with the adorable conversation bubble.  I started by die cutting a tag using white card stock. I stamped the adapters in two colors directly on the tag, and stamped and stitched the sentiment on to the tag.  After that I stamped the conversation bubble, fussy cut it out, colored it with Copics and added some Wink of Stella clear brush pen to the hearts.  Next, I used some Ranger Glossy Accents to add shine to the adapters and the hearts and let. them. dry.  For my background panel, I incorporated the a-mazingly talented and incredibly creative Tosha Leyendekker's genius record embossing technique to make a subtle 45 rpm record impression for a little texture using concentric circle dies.  You can see her card using this technique here.  Next, I die cut a rectangle panel out of the record embossed paper, brushed on some Wink of Stella Clear to the embossed ridges portion of my background panel,  and stitched the heart patterned paper on it.

Once my tag was dry, I added a bit of ribbon, baker's twine, and the conversation bubble then adhered it to my background panel.  All that was left was to adhere the assembled panel to a card base.  This finished card measures 3 5/8" x 5 5/8".

He's quite a smooth talker, isn't he?  Hee!  This is such a versatile set...there are tons of ways you could use the elements included...just let your imagination run wild, or silly, or whatever you choose!  Well that is all for my card today but the entire Bloom Brigade has joined up for this finale hop so you have lots and lots of amazing creations to enjoy.  Make sure you leave a little blog love along the way and then....it's time to go shoppin'!  YES, all three of these incredible sets in the Color Me Grateful collection are available today in the Power Poppy store!  Yay!  Thank you so much for stopping by today, I always enjoy your visits.  I hope you have a great weekend and until next time, take care!  :)

I love the CAS design and the adorable adaptors that you've colored and glossed up. And that speech bubble is adorable on that tag. And, yes, I love the technique Tosh used to emboss a record...fabulous! This card just makes me smile, and it really inspires me to use this in more ways than I had thought. So cool!! Love it! And sending hugs, my friend!
