Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday #232

Hi there!   Can you believe it is already Tuesday, AGAIN?!  Wow, that week went by way too fast!  So here I am...back with another Timeless Tuesday post.  Our hostess this week is a Guest Designer, Angel Rivera.  Angel has challenged us to use stamps to create our background paper (FTTC232).  What a fun technique!  You can read all of the details for this week's challenge here.

For my card, I decided to emboss my Flourishes Classic White card stock background paper before I stamped on it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I used the Bee My Honey stamp set for the sentiment and the little bee.  I have been itching to get this stamp set inky and I thought the little bee would be cute inside the little embossed detail.  This card came together really quickly with a few simple layers.

Aren't those bees the cutest things?!  I only used a couple of Copic markers to color them.  The embossing folder is Spellbinders M-Bossibilities' Garden Lattice.  This is a full size embossing folder that will emboss a whole sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 paper, so you could emboss a whole sheet and then cut off what you need and have more for your next project!  The sentiment strip is made layering black and then a punched yellow scallop behind my white card stock.  Some basic machine stitching makes a nice edge.  I then punched two holes and threaded my ribbon through for a bow, added a little bling and assembled my layers together for my card.

I have been so used to spending more time coloring on my cards lately, that I kind of felt like I was forgetting something on this one!  Lol!  I hope you found a bit of  inspiration to get your creative juices going and join us for this fun challenge!  But don't stop here!  Check out all of my team mates creations too...and make sure to leave them a little blog love while you are there.  We have a new Guest Designer this month too...Marie Ross.  She will be with us all month...so glad to have you with us Marie!  Hope you all have a great day and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

~Katie

  9. I'll second Tracy's tantrum...I want to be able to create like you, too, friend! :) I just love all the details you have on this gorgeous card, with the bees perfectly aligned in the embossed bg (genius!), the little scalloped borders, the fab stitching, and the "randomly placed" bling. Oh, and I don't want to forget that gorgeous bow. I love that you used a polka dot ribbon--perfect with the round bling and circles in the scallop punch. You never miss anything...perfection!
