Listen from Within

Hi everybody!  Hope you have had a great weekend!  I have a card to share for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge.  You can find out all of the details here.  This weeks challenge is to frame it.  I used my new Bees and Blooms stamp set from Flourishes for this card.  It kind of has an Asian feel to me so I paired it with some really pretty paper from Authentique's Carefree 6 x 6 paper bundle.  I scored and masked my image panel then stamped the blossoms.  I colored the image with Copics but kept the colors very simple so the stippled blossoms could really shine.  I sponged some Chamomile ink over part of the image and used a Atyou Spica clear pen to add some sparkle to the flower centers.  The card layout is very simple and I used my good ol' gold leafing pen again....still loving it!  I did a little stitching then added some gold photo corners to further frame things in.  The sentiment font is just gorgeous in this stamp set!  I am so glad I was able to play along in this challenge.  This card is really outside of my usual decor, but I have been striving to push my boundaries a bit and I really like how this turned out!  I hope you all have a great week and thanks so much for stopping by!

Katie

  2. Re-entering my comment as my I-pad was giving me a hard time with auto correct, arghh! This is just one beautiful card my friend....love that you didn't over color the flowers, they are perfect. AND that background paper is just deliscious, an overall beauty. Glad your pushing yourself - you keep stretching, cuz they just keep gettin' better.

  6. Katie, this is gorgeous! I love the Asian-inspired papers, and your coloring is amazing. The frame you made is great and the way you sponged just one corner of the bg really sets that pretty image off perfectly. Hope you have a Happy Mother's Day!!!

  7. I completely agree, this card does have an Asian feel to it. When I saw the background layout it made me think of a velvety tapestry rug. The card is absolutely gorgeous. Love that gold leaf pen too : )
